First off I know that sniper rifles are money pits and get very few kills.

With that out of the way, what are the upgrades to make a sniper rifle accurate and increase range other than a hop up and a high power spring and what do those parts do? also how much would they cost? A base starting gun would be a JG BAR-10 unless there is a better gun within the same price range.

yeah I see al your stuff on your FS thread that's with your sniper but I have no clue what most of that stuff does and how much of all of it is needed. Would it just be better to buy an G&G M14 such as this-http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_44_218&products_id=28218

or upgrade an M4 like this-http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_44_218&products_id=32676

to where the range, accuracy, and fps are all within a good range. SR series rifles are cool to but just the base gun for those are pretty expensive and i'm not sure but i'd probably have to put in roughly the same amount of upgrades into those as well.

you would be better of doing an m14 or sr-25 bc it would be semi automatic compared to bolt action, i love my sr-25 more than i did my vsr-10. And for a further notice for other people please do not post on this thread uless you have alot of knowledge either on vsr-10's or high powered AEG's. If i where you get a G&G m14 along with a m150 or m160 spring, azimuth piston, magnum motor, and mosfet. That would be alot cheaper than dropping a grand on a vsr-10

so how much would all of m150 or m160 spring, azimuth piston, magnum motor, and mosfet cost me? probably about the same as or more than the gun? this would be plus the installation cost.

The only azimuth thing I could find is this http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=6041 and it looks like plastic... is this a clone or is this what you're talking about?

there are many replica azimuth pistons, i just call them azimuth bc they originaly made it. Many companies make it now. Talk to ryan or reed on to where to get it. Ignore the thread on mma about it bc they are actually easy to find.

friend has one of these, most accurate gun Ive ever seen at about 90 meters, with a little tweaking. But its a little of the limit. but you could shoot it for hours and hours its so comfortable, and he got it 2 years ago and it still works fine.

Looks pretty cool but I don't know about it's performance.
I personally love the vsr-10 series of guns. But you better know what the crap you are doing before you start doing anything. Hop up buckings are always needing adjusting. Everything has to be cleaned... a lot. In the most opportune time your sears will stop catching. With that being said if you are comfortable with all of this and have bookoo bucks to spend on a gun that shoots plastic bbs then go for it. But you have got to be someone who likes to tinker and have mechanical knowledge. I would say that it is easier to work on than an AEG but that just be because I have done it so many times. If you get an AEG it will be effective to a certain extent when you first get it. If you get a vsr-10 it will not at least not in the context that everyone thinks it will. 95% of people don't know what they are getting into with a vsr-10 and sell it within 4 months. I would go with an sr series rifle if it were me.... I really want a kwa.

the problems i've had on my AEG is the first tooth (open end) has broken on 2 cheapo pistons (one was a reinforced polycarb). i've ordered an azimuth clone from evike (hasn't arrived yet) and also the pinion gear on my high torque matrix magnum motor stripped. i was using an m150 (520 fps with .20, but i use .30 i think it was 450 fps).

i also picked up a used L96 clone ($40) and my jaw dropped when researching for upgrades. it will need a stronger trigger assembly at around $150-$200. i'm not even gona mention the cost of the low tech internals for premium prices.the most economical upgrades were to replace the hopup unit with a PDI that allows AEG bucking and barrels to be used.

    link for azimuth clone:
