lipo questions

I recently came into possession of a 7.4 rhino lipo battery, and i was wondering: how do i take care of this thing?
( i have a smart charger
-aren't lipos suppose to be kept partially charged,
- do i need a different charger?
-how do i charge this crazy thing?
- any important things i should know about them?

Smart charger would do fine.

you will need a balance charger. a smart charger doesn't balance charge each cell.

Yes, dont Let the Lipo completely die, as it has been known to permanently kill batteries. However I think Ryan and Reed had some really ridiculously nice charger that could bring lipos back from the grave occasionally.

i think airdog has a lipo charger for around $30

when it starts to slow down, chances are it fell below it's safe voltage levels.

how do i know when the battery is charged?
i have had it on for 1 hour and lights arnt changing, and what colour do all the cell lights go when it is fully charged?

It may take awhile. If its a 7.4 volt, then 2 of the three lights should go green, if its an 11.1 volt, then all three lights should be green.
