I've been playing airoft for 8-9 months now, and I want to start doing my own work. (time to take off the airsoft pampers)I have a TM G36C. I think its a good gun to start work on, but I need your guys opinion. Should i open my Mech Box. Everyone on the internet says dont do it, but if i play airsoft till im 30 I'll spen soo much money on it.

It's so funny you say that Admin. I was chatting with lone wolf, and gave me the exact same links. Even though it is a popular website.

I'm sure it is easy after you do it for a long time but for first timers there are too many things they worry about and also have the fear of breaking their gun which makes them extremely uncomfortable doing it, but thats just what i think. If you think you have enough knowledge about the gear box then id say go for it. Worse thing that could happen is you screw it up and have to get airdog to fix it.

I was 14 when I broke open my first gearbox, but I got it all back together relitively easy.

Im a friggin gear head. I used to make some awesome lego bots (motors, gears, actual operation). I used to be on my highschool robotics team, but I left because the First League sucks (for reasons i'll go into if requested) however im still asked questions from time to time on what kind of gear ratio or questions of the nature.

Your asked about what kind of gear ratio, like what which is faster is which it for torque? Because they normally list those numbers besides the gears in the info area.

Re: opening a Mech Box
Well, I opened it, took it apart, and cleaned it. There was no flying parts or anything really bad (yet). I'm just waiting for UPS to get here with my bushings and shims.

Not speciffically gear ratios. More like the mechanical devices they could use to carry out a objective. gear ratios just came to mind out of the blue + I was tired
