I think it will be around $50 and I am pretty sure that it will be BYOG.

Seriously, your going to charge him for lessons. I would not charge if I were giving advice and lessons over the net. However if you mean meeting in person and giving a professional 1 on 1 full outline of a v3 gearbox. The most I would pay is $45 no more, no less. Maybe a 10% tip if most, if not, all your questions were answered.

I can give you a basic outline free, but if you insist, $25(hell you don't even need money, you could also pick me up 8,000 some more KSC .23 bb's and we'll call it a even deal). I'm not going to charge a lot of money to give you a outline of v3. + I have the exact same gearbox your working on (JG G36C) and I have done the EXACT same upgrades on mine. + I think I live the closest. My G36 is currently disassembled. If you want, tack on another $10 and i'll properly install your upgrades and reassemble the mechbox while showing you the process and techniques involved 1 on 1.

I can either meet you at a game or if need-be you can come to my workshop at my house. Whichever way is best for you. You have my email and if you need my phone, I'll PM it to you.

I know more about all airsoft guns then most people, I know how to get sniper rifles to fire at 710fps for thousands of shots lasting on parts that are only supposed to last for a couple, I have dissassembled V2, V3, V6, gas pistols, gas snipers, spring snipers, all dissassembled at my house right now, so I am sure that some of you could give the same knowledge but I can teach by demonstration also.

this is true, but i have also fixed V2's I will be getting one off a friend shortly to reassemble his gun and upgrade the bushing/shims in a new shell. His old one cracked. I still don't know how because I haven't had a chance to look at it.

If you can do one gearbox, you can do the others, although it might take a little bit of time just to acquaint yourself with the different layout.
But all gearboxes use the same basic components; the only main difference is the layout and trigger/electrical stuff.
Though V9 and V10 (recoil engine) gearboxes are very different.

    Correct the PSG-1 is a special V4 gearbox, NOT a V2.

    V1 is Fa-mas
    V2 is M4, G3, MP5, etc...
    V3 is AK, G36....
    V4 is PSG-1
V5 is Uzi. The V5 was TM's first shot at a recoiling mechbox, and it baisically just tore itself apart. The way that it produced recoil was by attatching wieghts to the piston.
    V6 is P90 and Thompson
    V7 is M14
    V8 is Type 89. The V8 gearbox has a mechanical 3-round burst.
V9 is the newer AK's. The V9 AK's have a recoil enginge that gives blowback and recoil that's around .22 recoil, as well as a working bolt catch that locks out when the mag runs empty. However, unlike the V5, the V9's recoil engine and blowback operate seperately from the piston. V9 AK's run around $400 and have a full metal body.
    V10 is the M4 SOPMOD, which is a blowback/recoil engine/bolt catch M4. V10 M4's run around $550 and have a full metal body.

    The G&G L85 (the Army is a G&G clone) is like a V2/V1 hybrid. It's a really wierd gearbox.
The CA-25 uses an extended V2.
And the SAW uses a PGC/CA design.

i say go for it, upgrading gun is very simple, its just a matter of remembering how to reconstruct the gun once its disassembled
working on the gearbox will take a bit more work to get used to, just gotta mess with the gears, wires, and motor some
but for the most part, paul and i have upgraded all of our guns ourselves and we've probably saved over 300 bucks from it...mind you this is within the past year alone
