The AIRDOG staff visited the field yesterday in preparation for OP: VENOM.
Gunner has done a lot of work since our last visit and the camping areas are cleared out nicely.
There are a lot of new trails, structures and battle areas in the field.
It will be worth the drive and the first of many AIRDOG scenario games hosted at the Battlezone field.
We will allow some campers, but not in the Guerilla Forces (GF)camping area as space is limited.
It's also a narrow road through the field to get to the GF camping area, so campers / trailers in the GF camping area will be a "no go".
There is limited space in the Delta Force (DF) camping area that could facilitate a couple of campers / trailers.
With that being said, we need to keep enough space open for primitive camping, canopies, cars, etc...
Please contact me if you are planning to bring a camper / trailer.
Just to clarify, there will be facilities there.
Gunner has about 3 Port-a-potties that will be trucked in for the event.
I would bring some TP just in case...would hate for anyone to be in the middle of taking care of business and not have the appropriate paperwork available.
Below are some pics of the field, which is HUGE and will be a challenge to navigate until you get your bearings.
The official gridded field map will be produced this week.
On with the pics.....
Part of the Guerilla Forces camping area
Road leading to the guard post near the GF HQ.
This is a battle area in itself!
GF HQ
Overlook Outpost (overlooks GF HQ) Great observation / staging area for GF base attack!
Note what looks like a hill in the background is actually another peak, as this point overlooks a valley area.
Area between the graveyard and Overlook Outpost.
Again, note the hill in the background as this is one of the highest points of the field.
Base 3, Base 4 (urban area).
